What is eConsult?
eConsult is a digital consultation platform used by NHS GP practices, allowing patients to submit their symptoms or requests online, directly to their GP. It also provides 24/7 access to trusted NHS self-help resources, a symptom checker, and guidance on where to seek appropriate care.
Developed by NHS GPs, eConsult is the most widely adopted online triage tool in NHS primary care. It’s designed to improve patient access, streamline practice operations, and ensure patients are directed to the right care at the right time.
The Benefits of Using eConsult
- Convenient Care: Many issues can be resolved without visiting the surgery—often with just a phone call.
- No Need to Switch Practices: Patients can access digital consultations through their existing GP practice.
- 24/7 Medical Support: Even when the practice is closed, patients can access trusted NHS health advice and symptom checkers anytime.
- Quick GP Response: Submissions receive a response from the patient’s own NHS GP practice by the end of the next working day, often sooner.
- Flexible Access: Patients can complete an eConsult on any device, anytime—at their own pace and without waiting on the phone.
- Efficient Requests: Routine needs like sick notes or test results can be handled online, saving time for both patients and staff.
We will endeavor to respond to you within 48 hours of submission.

Duty Doctor Service for when you have an urgent medical problem
To make it easier for you to get the right help when you need it urgently, we are offering a Duty Doctor Service in this practice. Duty Doctor is in place from 8.00am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.
When you phone with an urgent problem, the Duty Doctor will ring you back within 2 hours and will decide the best way to help you. The doctor may:
- Give you advice straight away over the phone
- Arrange for you to come into the practice to see a doctor or nurse or other member of staff
- Arrange for a home visit if you are not well enough to come to the surgery and the doctor thinks you need to be seen
- Direct you towards other services which can help
If you need urgent medical advice for you or someone you care for, please call the practice on our usual number and ask the reception team about speaking to the Duty Doctor. They will ask you a few questions and if they decide the duty doctor is the right person to help, they will arrange for them to call you back WITHIN 2 HOURS.
This service offers you quick access to your GP practice, where they know you and have your full medical record. We recommend this service instead of going to A&E. If you have a life-threatening emergency, please call 999. https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/urgent-and-emergency-care-services/when-to-call-999/
Home Visits
Please phone the practice to request a home visit. Visits are made only at the discretion of the doctor, for elderly or housebound patients and emergencies.
